Law enforcement plays a critical role in preventing child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA) — yet most policing strategies remain reactive, fragmented, and under-resourced. This interactive session challenges the status quo by exploring how police can collaborate to lead prevention-oriented responses to CSEA, even in low-resource environments.
Drawing on ECPAT’s global research, real-world case studies, and promising practices (such as hotspot policing and AI-enabled surveillance), speakers will unpack how law enforcement agencies can shift their focus to early intervention, perpetrator prevention, and norms shift with community engagement.
Through group work and shared dialogue, participants will co-create practical steps to support this transition — generating ideas for policies, training, and partnerships that can be adapted globally.
