The session will attract state and non-state actors who work with children. Particularly, children who have been abused and have thereby come in contact with the law. The session will begin with a brainstorming session asking the members of the audience to reflectively think through two questions. Imagine a child has been interrogated so aggressively and repeatedly during the court proceedings but a conviction was attained. Is this a good thing?
What needs to happen for a child to tell their story in court in a convincing and compelling way? Participants will have 2 minutes to think through their answers followed by 8 minutes of feedback. This will be followed by a 25-minute presentation by KAI-Z sharing a model based on experiences and lessons learnt in Guatemala, Peru and Zambia as far as child friendly justice. Lastly, there will be a 25-minute interactive question and answer session
