This session presents Barnahus (Children’s House) as a leading model of multidisciplinary collaboration, uniting justice, law enforcement, child protection, medical and therapeutic interventions under one roof. It highlights Barnahus as a groundbreaking example of integrating policy, research, and practice, highlighting the role of Barnahus in implementing international and regional legal obligations to protect children from violence and supporting victims.
Representatives from Ministries, Child Protection Agencies and Barnahus from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Slovenia, Ireland, Spain, and potentially the U.S. will share their findings and recommendations, building a strong case for investing in this proven approach to addressing cases concerning violence against children. Through moderated discussions, participants will explore how Barnahus supports children while increasing efficiency, reducing trauma, and improving outcomes.
