Focus of this Training:

Join former ISPCAN Councilor Desmond Runyan, lead developer of the ISPCAN Child Abuse Screening Tools (ICAST), for a review of ICAST and Multiple Indicator Cluster Study (MICS) instruments to help participants interested in undertaking surveys to understand the impact of COVID-19, quarantine, and loss of jobs and income on child abuse. Dr. Runyan will discuss the advantages of each instrument and highlight geographic locations which can use and build on prior work with the ICAST and MICS.

ICAST is an instrument used worldwide to measure the extent of child maltreatment. Available in many languages, it includes surveys for parents, children, and young adults (retrospective) that are rights-based, reliable and valid, culturally sensitive, and easily translated.
