      Focus of this Training:

ISPCAN, in partnership with Child Safe Middle East, presented this 90-minute virtual session that addressed the immense challenges of safeguarding children in the age of Artificial Intelligence.  Our goal for this session was to reach as many professionals, practitioners, organizations, community leaders, social workers, teachers and parents as possible with specific ways that we can address this critical topic.  Listen to the recording to hear this powerful presentation and an interactive Q&A session with Maryam Ehsani. What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)? Artificial Intelligence can be defined as a branch of computer science that can simulate human intelligence. AI is implemented in machines to perform tasks that actually require human intelligence. Some of the primary functions of AI include simulating reasoning, learning, problem-solving and quick decision making. At the core of it, Artificial Intelligence is computer algorithms with certain sets of rules. AI systems have the ability to learn from the iteration of tasks where the computer data (aka machine learning algorithms) are fed to the system. This is exactly how, machine learning can actually get better at doing their specified tasks, without any external interference. The societal question becomes how AI will impact all aspects of society - including the critical issue of the protection of children online.
